Employee Spotlight - Summer Hargreaves and Harley Ingham

Summer gained an Advanced Engineering Performance Diploma in early 2025 and was looking for an opportunity to start her engineering career with a well-known local business.

Summer joined Riggs Autopack in March 2025 on a 4-year apprenticeship and is working in our Milling and Turning sections on a permanent basis but will also gain additional experience in our Assembly & Fitting department at a later date.

Following the completion of a college engineering course, Harley was keen to join a CNC apprenticeship scheme as a path to enhance and grow his skillset within the engineering industry.

Harley joined Riggs Autopack in April 2024 on a 4-year apprenticeship and is working in our Turning section on a permanent basis but will also gain additional experience in our Assembly & Fitting department at a later date.

Riggs Autopack firmly believe in “investment in people” and a further apprentice will join our scheme in September 2025. We are committed to encouraging and supporting apprenticeships which are essential to not only bring fresh talent into our industry but to give people the tools they need to thrive. This means huge opportunities for engineers to make a real impact and grow their careers along the way.

Both Summer and Harley have already made a positive impact and have quickly become invaluable staff members. They are positive, hardworking and extremely well-liked, and seen as helping to shape the future of engineering at Riggs Autopack.

Summer commented “One of the main benefits of doing my apprenticeship with Riggs Autopack is the diverse nature of the day to day work I’m able to take on. This, coupled with the expert training I’m given, is providing me with invaluable skills for the future.”
