Piquant manufacture a range of quality mayonnaise, dips, dressings and sauces that are mixed with love and flair. If you are looking for unusually high quality products, from a company with a real interest in your business then look no further, you have found them!

They pride themselves on an entirely modern outlook, exceptionally flexible approach to business and continual investment in plant, people and products, all of which helps them maintain their competitive profile. Piquant started life in September 1986 and have been manufacturing standard and bespoke recipe sauces and mayonnaise for over 20 years. Their BRC accredited site and state of the art mixing, dispersion, packaging and automated filling systems mean they can deliver when the client needs it. What’s more they can deliver in a plethora of different packages from 25g portion control pots to 1000kg industrial containers and all sizes in between.

When Piquant looked at purchasing a new automatic sauce bottle filling line (for containers shown below), they returned to Lancashire filling machine manufacturer Riggs Autopack to provide a high quality, bespoke solution.

Piquant had previously purchased from Riggs Autopack their “Line Three” which included a Riggs Autopack twin head filling machine with conveyor, and a third party capper and labeller. They had also previously purchased a Riggs Autopack Series 3 semi-automatic bulk filling machine for their food service business. This filling machine was utilised as a dedicated stand-alone unit to accurately fill tubs of 2kg – 10kg directly from IBCs.

This new purchase is Piquant’s fourth production line and essential to keep up with ever increasing demand for their quality products supplied to retailers and wholesalers, as well as food service groups throughout the UK.

For the company’s “Line Four”, Riggs Autopack supplied an automatic twin head filling machine in conjunction with a rotary infeed table, conveyor, induction sealer, capper, date coder and labeller. As Riggs Autopack project managed this turnkey solution, the key elements were assembled at their 50,000 sq ft Lancashire factory and fully tested with customer sign-off prior to delivery, installation and commissioning at Piquant.

Piquant spokesman Jamie Allen said “Riggs Autopack is a brilliant company to deal with. They’re market leaders, which proved itself in their machinery and the service they provide.”  Riggs Autopack’s Technical Sales engineer Kim David said “Working with Piquant on another project was a pleasure. They worked closely with us to co-ordinate various third party machine suppliers, and together we produced a high quality, bespoke automatic filling line that was installed and commissioned with ease.”
