Taste of Success for Positive Kitchen- July 12th 2021

Positive Kitchen was founded by husband and wife team, Aatin and Helen Anadkat, and they began their mother nature friendly venture when their youngest son was diagnosed with a dairy intolerance.

As part of their mission to create sustainable cakes of the future, their bakes are produced and packed in the most environmentally friendly way possible. From using only plant-based ingredients to completely plastic free packaging, they put sustainability at the centre of all that they do.

With something for everyone, their cakes, brownies and scones are free from dairy, gluten, soya and refined sugar, along with being 100% vegan and no GMO. Their 6 most-loved cake flavours are Carrot & White Chocolate, Sticky Toffee & Pecan, Orange & Almond, Chocolate & Hazelnut, Gingernut, and Pink Berry Rose.

Thats not all! Brownies include Hazelnut, Classic Dark Chocolate, Salted Caramel, and White Chocolate Chip. To enjoy with a cuppa there’s 3 fruit scones, vegan and gluten free of course to be enjoyed with ‘jam and cream’ or you may like it ‘cream and jam’. Packaged sustainably and ready to be delivered to your door.

During 2020, their online orders had seen a great increase during ‘lockdown’ as customers sought to provide a wonderful treat for family and friends. As orders continued to grow, hand depositing the products with piping bags was no longer a viable option from a time and production perspective, and Aatin approached depositor manufacturer Riggs Autopack to discuss a suitable semi-automatic depositor to meet their production needs.

Following initial discussions between Aatin and Riggs Autopack's Technical Sales Engineer John Guild, a machine specification was agreed upon; this being the Model 1000 Series 1 Micro Depositor. This compact, semi-automatic table top depositor is designed for artisan food producers that need short production runs and small volume deposits (3ml - 85ml). It is foot pedal operated and provides damage free depositing of hot or cold liquid, semi-liquid and suspended solid products, and accurately fills most types of containers.

Riggs Autopack supplied a Series 1 Depositor to run product trials on-site at Positive Kitchen. It offers an accurate depositing solution to time consuming manual ‘piping bags’ and provides simple strip down between products to guarantee allergen control, hygiene and product integrity.

This free of charge trial enabled Aatin and his team to establish how the depositor can provide an effective procedure for depositing their full range of batter mixes, and to finalise the required machine specification that met all their specific production needs. Following the successful trial, Positive Kitchen purchased the Series 1 depositor that was on-site for the trials, and are extremely pleased with the difference it’s made to their production.

Positive Kitchen's Operations Manager Liam Egan-Rayner commented: “The depositor has made a real impact to our packing process, shortening the time to baking. We’re delighted!”

Riggs Autopack Technical Sales Engineer John Guild remarked “One of the pleasures as a supplier of depositing machines is to assist artisan companies as they start out with small scale food production and then continue to work with them as they grow. It’s been an absolute pleasure dealing with Positive Kitchen and I’m so pleased to see their company develop and grow”.
